Jane and Neil have been teaching for a combined 35 years. Jane is due to retire soon and has been looking to get her affairs in order. Jane and Neil have one adult son, Gethin, who still lives at home.
Gethin has Special Educational Needs (SEN) and does not work. Jane is concerned that Gethin will struggle to manage finances accordingly following any inheritance should they both die. Neil and Jane are concerned about the threat of increased legal costs on death that will eat into their estate left to their son.
We helped prepare a Bloodline Planning Trust which ensured that Gethin would be able to best manage his finances following any inheritance. The trust was also able to mitigate any concerns about attracting the requirement for probate for the family home.
